Inspirational Hours

Each and every morning I wake up, make my hi-octane Americano and sit in a grey wool Arts & Crafts era rocker and look at this inspiring long, elliptic coffee table and organic green vase. After a sip or two, I pull out my notebook and start the creative download. All through the night ideas bounce back and forth in my head. It’s like releasing the valve on a pressure cooker to get the ideas out of my head and onto paper.

I wonder if my little red and white Victorian stool has sold yet.

Next, I wonder about that aqua and gray stool with the aqua vinyl cording, has it sold?

Enough of this time consuming wondering, I need to move forward and get the day organized. I need to get an article prepared for The Star, write a post for Curbly, clean up my studio for class tonight and clean up my house so I know what I’m doing. I work much better with order. Concentrate, get it all written down and get to work. I can’t even start until I get it written down.

What I wonder is if writing it down even makes a difference. For me, writing it down just helps. Lists, calendars, project planning, it has to help in the end, right?

I’m still hoping to see my productivity level increase. I’m trying and working really hard at turning my wide array of creative interests into a bonafide business.
When is it a business?
When you decide that it is.
